I will post up my current setup and why I like or dislike it!
Board: I ride a 8.125 by 32inch Zorlac blank board. I like my board wide but not too wide. Some people say my board is wide, but to me an 8inch is perfect! This time I got the .125 because it was the closest thing the store had to 8 inch, so I got that one. A little wider than 8 inch does not matter, but skinier is where I draw the line. I like a steep concave, nose and tail, I like a board that shows the curves in the board, so steep tail and nose do the trick. I like the feeling of a stiff, medium-tight board. The grip is Jessup. I ride Jessup all the time, their grip never wears out! I would like to try Black Magic, but I can't find it anywhere!
Trucks: I ride 8 inch Furys. Black hanger and Blue baseplate. I am not sure the height on them, I really dont care about the height, it is the length of them that I care about. They are pretty heavy but I dont care about weight. If I can find a strong and light truck then I would get them. Destructo are just that, but this time I wanted to try Fury, because their turning kicks ass. Destucto's bushings sucked. Fury's rule. I find if you ride heavy trucks for a while and then go to light ones, your height in ollies will increase a alot!
Hardware: I ride 1" Destucto hardware. If I ride shock pads then I ride 1 1/4" , but since the Furys come with a thin shock pad, I ride the 1 inch hardware instead.
Bearings: I ride Lucky (ABEC 3). To me the higher the ABEC the better the bearing, but really anything with a fast smooth ride with work with me! . I clean and relube my bearings often so that they will last longer. I use oil if I want a fast ride and I use grease if I want a smooth ride
Wheels: I ride 56mm Powell Mini Logos. They are 99a. I like 58s because they last longer, but since these are harder then my prevous wheels so they wont wear down as fast. I like hard wheels because they roll faster. I have had soft wheels before, I dont mind them they are quiet and smooth, but I still like harder wheels better!
